Personal Information Protection Statement

​The Tasmanian Racing Integrity Commissioner (the Commissioner) is an independent statutory officer appointed by the Governor pursuant to section 7 of the Racing Regulation and Integrity Act 2024 

The Commissioner is a personal information custodian within the meaning of the Personal Information Protection Act 2004, and the Commissioner and his office are committed to protecting personal information by complying with the obligations in that Act. 

If collected by the Commissioner, your personal information will not be used or disclosed to State institutions and authorities except if required or allowed by law. Technology and security policies, and rules and measures, exist to protect personal information from unauthorised access, improper use, unsanctioned alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction and accidental loss. 

Your personal information will be destroyed where it is no longer required (except where required to be kept in compliance with the Archives Act 1983). Reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete and up to date whenever it is disclosed or used.
